Sundowner Sessions: A late Summer Evening at Wyken
A glass of Wyken wine, live music drifting across the lawn and an evening with friends in the gardens. In early September, over 250 people joined us for our first Sundowner Session - a chance to enjoy a little more of summer before autumn settled in.
It was lovely to see the gardens take on a different rhythm. Guests arrived with chairs and blankets, found their favourite spots and settled in for the evening. Some chose to be close to the music; others wandered the garden paths or found a quieter corner to catch up.
Our wines were poured just a short walk from the vineyard where their story begins, with bottles of Moonshine chilling on ice and plenty of opportunity to enjoy a glass among friends.
There was lots to tempt hungry guests, too, from burgers and fries to lobster rolls and oysters, with freshly made crêpes providing a sweet finish. Food in hand and glasses topped up, the lawns became a patchwork of conversations, familiar faces and new introductions.
Becca Rose’s live sets and music from Brewvan provided the soundtrack, carrying us from the early evening into the night.
As daylight faded, coloured lights brought a different feel to the gardens and the music continued beneath the trees.
To everyone who came along, and to the musicians, food traders and Wyken team who helped bring the evening together - thank you.
We’ve had some super feedback from our first Sundowner Session and seeing so many guests enjoying the gardens together was a lovely way to round off the summer.
We will be holding more events in the garden next year so keep an eye on socials for more information, we hope to see you there!
